Around my house, El Perelló, Southern Catalonia, Spain , zone 9,maybe 2
hundred Drimia ou Urginea maritima begin to spike too, some are already
flowering, we had a storm two days ago.
It is probably one of the best bulbs for very dry place. Here they do well
in full sunshine, top of the bulb at ground level. They look nicer in
groups of 5 or 7 for example. They also have nice green and glossy leaves
during the winter.
50 Lapiedra martinezii are also blooming now . I can send pictures if
someone is interested.

I noticed one of my four Drimia (Urginea) maritima beginning to spike
August 15 of this year. They always manage to stagger flowering, so only
one flowers each year. I keep the large pots in my carport over the summer,
exposed to the heat but not the sun nor rain. In winter I bring them out
into full sun and keep them moist.
