I second all these suggestions. I hate to suggest what I consider to be the best seller for rare bulbs on eBay because it will just make the auctioning competition even worse than it already is. He also often sells seeds, and a few plants and bulbs, as straight purchases rather than auctioning off one bulb or plant. He also likes and offers succulents and caudiciforms. His name is Dylan Hannon and his eBay name is dylansbulbs. He lists his new auctions late on Wednesday nights ending on Sunday evenings, and it looks like he’s started listing his new seed offerings sometime on Sundays or Sunday evenings. He has a few current seed offerings that are really good. (If you want to see some of his recent offerings, go to his current eBay offerings and on the right hand side menu, click on ‘Completed Items’ and it will show all the things he has sold for the past 3 months I think. Which I just did and discovered that he offered 8 packets of seeds of the incredibly rare small Mediterranean bulb Hannonia hesperidium yesterday and all 8 sold out yesterday!) He is a professional botanist at the Huntington Gardens. --Lee Poulsen San Gabriel Valley, California, USA - USDA Zone 10a Latitude 34°N, Altitude 340 ft/100 m > On Aug 4, 2024, at 19:36, Robert Parks via pbs <pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net> wrote: > > There are a number of eBay sellers who have mediterranean climate bulbs on > a regular basis. > > Native plant nurseries may have a few bulbs > > General nurseries in the West that sell specifically mediterranean climate > plants will sometimes have bulbs...native or otherwise...but, like eBay, > you have to be paying attention and checking regularly (granted not quite > as regularly as eBay)...the oddities tend to be gobbled up suddenly. > > Oh, and Plant Delights, if you can bear the shipping charges, usually has a > number of Arums and a few other bulbs. > > Robert > happily back in SF where it is 50dF cooler than on the drive back from the > Sierra Nevada.
