Jim, They can be self pollinated although you wont get as much seed as if you had another one to cross with. Just hit everything that's open every few days using fresh pollen. If any of your boophane are still in bloom I suggest crossing with those (should be possible) or of course amaryllis belladonna types that being an easy cross. It developed amazingly fast. I am attempting to pollinate it not knowing if they are self compatible but I guess I'll find out. Does anyone know anything about pollen maturation or stigma receptivity periods? I have a collection of B. disticha flower heads but this is a first for me. >> >> Jim Foster >> >> Santa Barbara >> >> -------------- next part -------------- >> A non-text attachment was scrubbed... >> Name: Brungsvigia josephina.jpg >> Type: image/jpeg >> Size: 343049 bytes >> Desc: not available >> URL: <http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/pipermail/pbs/…> >> -------------- next part -------------- >> A non-text attachment was scrubbed... >> Name: Brunsvigia flower copy.jpg >> Type: image/jpeg >> Size: 258384 bytes >> Desc: not available >> URL: <http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/pipermail/pbs/…> >> _______________________________________________ >> pbs mailing list >> pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net >> http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… > > _______________________________________________ > pbs mailing list > pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net > http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/…
