I have waited patiently for 4 years for this bulb to flower and was really surprised to see the spike last week. It developed amazingly fast. I am attempting to pollinate it not knowing if they are self compatible but I guess I'll find out. Does anyone know anything about pollen maturation or stigma receptivity periods? I have a collection of B. disticha flower heads but this is a first for me.
