Anyway, in my Mediterranean climate H. papilio is truly dormant as it looses all leaves in June and put again in September or October, according with the first autumn rainfalls. Occasionally it can even flower with the new flush of leaves, but normally it flowers in April here. Hippeastrum aulicum follow the same pattern, but flowers in November - December, I know this is the same in climates like California. Angelo Porcelli Apulia - Southern Italy
