Scottish bulb logs on CD

I'm just catching up on the most recent of Ian Young's weekly bulb
logs on the Scottish Rock Garden Club website.

Ian is beginning his third year of writing the weekly
well-illustrated logs. He has put the first two years on a CD and
describes how to get one here:

I think CDs are of only one format in both Europe and North America,
unlike video tapes. Is this so?
