Kevin, here is a copy of a reply from Alan Meerow to the same question asked by J. Shields in 1999 on another forum. Regards Sheila >I had the most sucess with Pamianthe growing them as epiphytes (which they >are in nature), in clay pots. The bulb should sit on the surface of the medium. I used a mix of seedling grade tree fern, seedling grade fir bark, perlite, and experimented with various amounts of peat. Finely ditched the peat altogether. I recommend that once established with several leaves, a decent-sized seedling bulb, and the conspicuous pseudostem that this species produces, that you move them into the above mix (2 parts fern, two parts bark, 1 part perlite).
