On Dec 27, I wrote: Also early is Crocus sieberi 'Bowles White' Dear all; To my surprise a 'Bowles White' responded to our very unusual after Chrstmas warm up by opening a single flower on New Year's Eve. The outside temp got around 65 F. and nearer 70 F the day before. We expect early crocus by mid-Feb and occasionally late January, but this is by far the earliest bloom we have ever had. After a search in leaf debris we found other 'Bowles White' up, but not open and same for C. ancyrensis another of the earliest Crocus. Global Warming ? Of course there was not a bee to be seen and they usually find every early bloom. What will 2005 bring? Best Jim W. -- Dr. James W. Waddick 8871 NW Brostrom Rd.
