Coyotes are eliminated because they prey on local flocks of sheep, goats, alpaca, and backyard fowl. Many people that keep livestock employ livestock guardian dogs like Kuvasz, Pyrenees, and rarely Maremma. Cattle herds often have donkeys to fend off predators.
