I have used glypohosate around dormant hybrid hippeastrums with no effect on them at all. My understanding for this agent to work, plants need to be in active growth.

Subject: Re: [pbs] Use of Roundup

I need some advice. Will using Roundup on the soil around DORMANT bulbs
affect them adversely? I bneed to get rid of Johnson grass in my bulb bed.

Personal anecdotal experience is much needed. "Bulbs" involved are alliums,
Hyacinths, muscari, and Fritillaria
