An interesting article in today's NY Times about color variation in Fritillaria delavayi https://nytimes.com/2020/12/… which presumably arose because it is collected for traditional medicine. The yellow flowered ones are easy to notice and collect, those with dull colored flowers are less conspicuous. Judy in New Jersey where winter temperatures have decided that it is time for them.
