Hi Everyone, I am new to the PBS and thought I'd share a bit of an accomplishment to kick off spring. Since I was 10 years old, Tulips have been one of my favorite flowers. However, as I've lived most of my life in Central Florida, they have not been a part of my plant collection, until now. I have attached several pictures of Tulipa clusiana currently coming into bloom in my garden. Although it is widely considered unnecessary for this species, due to the highly variable winter and spring weather of my region, I went ahead and vernalized the bulbs for 8 weeks. Potted up 4 weeks ago, they have endured nighttime lows below freezing, daytime highs in the mid 80's, torrential rain and even hail. As this is an unusual site for my neck of the woods, I thought I’d share!
