Calostemma luteum

I have two 8x10ft heated benches, but they are mostly for Hippeastrum
that need a little extra heat, plus a few others, and I don't have room
for the Calostemma on the benches, but now I am motivated to get the
ones grown from seed to bloom, so I will try making space. This was an
unusually warm summer here on the north coast, and I think that made the
difference. There is a blog posting about the benches, which are
covered in propagation mats on thermostats.

Hi Diane

This is an amazing feat! I admire your preserverence. So very
interesting. Did you keep a heating pad on the pots and this helped the
success? Or it was just a warmer summer in general for you?

One of my C. luteum finally bloomed: http://www.thebulbmaven.typepad.com/. I have
had this bulb for 13 years, and have pots grown from seed for that long
also that have never bloomed. I wonder if the warm summer did the trick.
