Yep, that's it, a hori hori, most like the third one down I think. I don't know how I lived without it all these years. Have had one for decades. I find that if you do a lot of slicing through bulbs while planting others (I prefer to call this “subterranean twin-scaling”), a hori-hori works just as well as a long, narrow trowel, and is easier to push into the ground. Some people might be put off seeing you wear a large knife on your belt, but the Japanese hori-hori sheaths have a happy rabbit on them, which dispels all fears.
