Thirteen years ago I made an Amaryllis x Brunsvigia cross using some pollen given me by Bill the Bulb Baron. Thanks, Bill! This year the plant finally bloomed. Like everyone else who's made this cross, I found that the flowers are dark magenta and the flower head is taller than Amaryllis. I tried to make some crosses with it, but nothing set seeds. However, one unpollinated flower set a single small white seed. I presume it was selfed. In another 13 years, I'll let you know if it blooms.
