Dear all, I have not had time to read the full paper but as a comment here has suggested a cross between Iris foetidissia x I. spuria (or whatever they are now called, I have not got that far yet), should be very possible I am wondering if it has been done and if we could have a whole new range of 'iris' with brightly coloured seeds and good sized flowers? I grow a range of coloured seeded forms of foetidissima from white to yellow to orangey red...
