Petronymphe decora

I have had that happen every year in the past so this year i plunged the pot of Petronymphe decora in a deep fish box of sand kept damp. Especially when it is 100F.
So i think it wilts when it is too hot and dry.
They are about to bloom, hopefully pic is attached at the end below

Hello all,
This year is the first year I have a flower stalk on Petronymphe decora. I noticed today though that the top of the stem has gone limp which now means I won’t get to see the flowers. I’m miffed and sad. I do have this happen sometimes with Bessera ( closely allianced with Petronymphe) which I grow, but because there’s many blooms it goes relatively unnoticed. Does anyone have an idea why this may happen and its cause?
