Castilleja

Jim:

Indian paintbrushes (Castilleja) are reputed to be partially parasitic on other plants, particularly grasses. If you're raising them in pots, they need a host plant. I don't know if they are species-specific when it comes to hosts.

This plant may be a bit far afield
from a geophyte, but does anyone have information on how to
raise Castilleja sp. from seed. I live in Sunset zone 14 the
seed came from Sunset zone 7 or 9.
