Jane's comment about the lack of change in the color of Paeonia tenuifolia seems to agree with something I'm seeing in my garden this week. I grow some of the early twentieth century hybrids of A P Sanders. Those with P. tenuifolia in their background are not fading in our 80 and 90 degree F daytime highs this week. 'Little Scout', from another breeder but also with P. tenuifolia parentage, also does not fade.On the other hand, 'Scarlett O'Hara' which in cool weather opens a glorious pure red, under our present conditions quickly fades to a disagreeable grayish-pink.
