Alocasia Macrorrhiza

The central coast of New South Wales is about USDA Zone 10. I wonder if
black plastic would solarize it?

Wales must be zone 8? I think you can rent a tiller once the
Alocasia dies back and this should masticate the bulbs.

The following question came via the PBS website. If you know how to
eradicate Alocasia, please reply directly to Des Mowday, who wrote to us.

This is a message from the PBS website for janemcgary.
David,
Recently purchased a coastal property-home- on the Central Coast of New
South Wales and with it a large area of Alocasia M. sloping toward the
ocean.
They are exposed to the elements, particularly severe storms from the
ocean, resulting in the leaves being torn to shreds and the supporting
stems broken. I have noticed the summer sun causes them to brown and
wilt.
Sadly they will have to be removed. I get the impression from their
ability
to propagate this might be difficult.- Roundup?-- What suggestion might
you
have?
Good wishes and anticipating your reply David.
