Diastema comiferum

Diastema comiferum (DC.) Benth. ex Walp. is native to Ecuador and Peru between 800-2000 m (2600-6500 ft). It is one of the few species in cultivation and only one of two species with red flowers in cultivation. Height range: 5-15 cm. The photos below were taken by J. Schofield.
