Blandfordiaceae is a recent split from the giant family Liliaceae supported by the APG II system. It contains a single genus of which there are four species. All are restricted to eastern Australia and Tasmania. Hairless leaves are borne in a basal spiral. Flowers appears bell-shaped due to the jointed tepals. Fruits are non-fleshy.
