Tigridia mariaetrinitatis Espejo & López-Ferrari is found only in its type locality in Oaxaca State, Mexico. This species has erect flowers with lilac outer tepals with purple spots, yellow inner tepals with purple spots and a yellow base. It occurs in seasonally flooded plains at 2380-2520 m.
