Gilliesia

Gilliesia Lindl. is a genus in the Amaryllidaceae family endemic to Chile and Argentina.

Gilliesia graminea Lindl., the type species of this genus, is native to Central Chile to Argentina (Mendoza). This species looks more like an orchid than an amaryllid. According to Chile Flora, this species grows on shaded steep slopes at low altitude, interior valleys or coastal mountains. Photographs 1 to 4 by Bert Zaalberg.
