On this page we will show pictures of Calochortus hybrids
In Ukiah, California Calochortus amabilis (rich yellow globe) and Calochortus tolmiei (small open faced furry white "pussy ears") have hybridized in the same semi shaded hillside which is fenced from the ravenous deer. Both bloom in profusion and there are four plants that come back but do not set viable seed. Photos by Bob Werra.
Another Calochortus in Bob Werra's collection could be a hybrid between Calochortus monophyllus (a yellow hairy star tulip variety of Calochortus) and Calochortus umbellatus (a white or pale lavender star tulip with few hairs and purple spots). Photos by Bob Werra.
