Achimenes 'Amie Saliba' is a hybrid made by Serge Saliba and named for his wife. It is a nice and vigorous hybrid, moderate size, and flowers that start out a light yellow and increasing in intensity with time, along with an increasing intensity in the edges of the petals with a pinkish tone. Achimenes 'Pink Cloud' was obtained by Mary Sue Ittner from the the Pacific Bulb Society BX under this name. A similar plant is called 'Pink Clouds' and they may be the same. Photos below show the rhizomes on a 1 cm grid in May and the flowering plant in August. In later years a bright pink flower appeared along with the lighter pink ones.
Achimenes 'Prima Donna' has rich pink flowers with orange throats. It flowers during summer and autumn and thrives in moist soil with partial shade. Photos taken August 2009 by Jay Yourch.
