Dear Pacific bulb society,
I am Nuwan Sameera Liyanage who is studying alkaloid biosynthesis in Amaryllidaceae for my PhD in Canada.
With the current progress of my project, I am looking for seeds of mainly Hippeastrum papilio and Lycoris. Mr. Jan Jeddeloh recommended me to put a post, mentioning that Hippeastrum papilio is producing good amounts of seeds. Please let me know if anyone can offer me some; it will help a lot for the success of my project.
Thank you,
With regards,
Nuwan Sameera Liyanage

All,
Anyone know whether I can just mail a little pack of seeds to Canada without running afoul of ag regulations there?? From some of the SX correspondence I'm thinking it can be done, but if there is any advice or tricks to getting it done, help me out!

Yes you can mail seed to Canada. So far they haven?t jumped on the phytosanitary certificate or other obstruction bandwagon. If you?re sending the seed in a padded envelope and have to do a customs declaration just use ?Garden Collected Seed-No commercial value.? So you should be fine.

Hi Everyone:
Member Chad Cox has donated a bit of crinum seed. It's beginning to pop
and needs to be sown as soon as possible.
If anyone is interested, please let me know. Do not respond to this email
directly, please send a *separate* email to me. Available are:
1. Crinum Macowanii 'African Queen'
2. Crinum bulbispermum 'Jumbo' and
3. Crinum bulbispermum hybrid
This offer is first-come, first served and will be open for until Tuesday
evening (July 25). Please respond to me asap as I intend to get this seed
out the door mid-week.
Thanks.
Bridget
