Drimia maritima bulb rot - from above!

Here’s another idea.

Several years ago I inherited a Drimia bulb that the owner had stuck in a bucket of soil - it really was a bucket - it had no drainage holes. When I got it, the soil was saturated, the bulb was saturated and I had little hope of it surviving. I dumped out the entire mess and teh bulb broke apart into 60 or more “scales.” I separated them, cleaned them up and potted them all properly. All but one or two survived.

I wonder if you might try peeling apart this bulb to divide it into scales (kind of like the individual cloves that make up a head of garlic), and then repot each one. It could be a fun experiment and this would be the time to do it.

If there's an active growth pushing up, you probably have little to fear, but if you're really concerned about it, you can carefully peel back some of the tunic around the top, see where the new sprout(s) are coming up, and then get between them with a really sharp knife and cut a notch for the water to drain out.
