I don't use this service so I'm unclear as to what middlemen it actually cuts out. Is the alternative just showing up at the post office with a tub full of packages and standing there while the clerk weighs each one and stamps it? With all the work we expect from our SX/BX volunteers, is it reasonable to expect them to stand in line while all of this manual work is done? Does stamps.com possibly save one or more trips to the post office? At current gas prices, that might be considered a useful benefit. Looking at it another way, maybe it's a scam perpetrated by the USPS to shift work onto the mailer and away from the postal clerks. Like making you talk to a robot operator instead of a real person so that you are the only person spending time on the transaction. We should ask our volunteers to weigh in on whether or not the thing is a net savings to them in time, money, or driving. As long as they are willing to do a thankless job that I'm not willing to do, I would hesitate to tell them how to do it. Bob Zone 7 or should I say Zip Code 37830 haha _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… Unsubscribe: <mailto:pbs-unsubscribe@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net> PBS Forum https://…
