Hi everyone! I’m one of the two co-founders of a project to build a new premier botanical garden in Portland, Oregon. My other co-founder is Sean Hogan for those of you who know him. We’re having an event later this month for those who are interested in learning more about our project and who want to gather outdoors for food and drink and schmooze (hopefully the weather will get better by then). If you’re interested in joining, you can purchase a ticket here: *https://bit.ly/3xoy0wZ/ <https://bit.ly/3xoy0wZ/>* Tickets are $25 and the funds will help us continue hosting future events and funding staff as we get closer to launching our capital campaign. *MORE INFO:* You can learn more about our mission and vision at portlandbg.org or follow us on Instagram @pdxbot . We also have a quarterly newsletter that you can sign up for on our website! We’re getting very close to officially announcing locations for both of our campuses (one within the city of Portland and one outside in the suburbs), but we can’t give specifics just yet seeing as final agreements have not been inked yet. We introduced a program that commemorates every month of our operation/existence with a plant illustration. Find illustrations of your favorite Oregon native plants or western cape flowers in our webshop: shop.portlandbg.org I was asked this a few times when I chatted to some NARGS folks a ways back, but there *are* plans to have extensive collections of bulbs, corms, and other geophytes throughout the garden including inside the planned conservatory. Our website is frequently updated and has information about almost everything we have planned up to this point. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my abilities, but there are some things that I’m not quite able to share right now! Thank you, and I hope to meet y’all in person sometime soon! Maybe one day we can host a PBS event at PBG.
