I have some Worsleya Procera seedlings growing in the following conditions Germination mid January 4c4 black plastic seedling tray Seedlings sit in a black plastic nursery tray. Soil mix 1/2 pumice 1/2 dg with some ground coco fiber to retain some moisture Sit on a south facing balcony nothing blocks the sun all day R/O water that has 1/4 strength fertllizer they are drenched and water is collected for other plants when tray drains. In addition I live about 1 mile from the bay and ocean and we had a warm. But not hot summer All seeds germinated and did well until May when warm weather return to the area. They seemed to be stunted then a leaf would die, but a new one replaced it, so I was worried a bit. Now The weather has cooled and the Worsleya have grown tremendously the past six weeks. I Worsleya this temperature sensitive? I’m curious as I see them growing so well in cities like Sydney which has a similar climate to SanDiego for the most part? Along the way I repotted one, its leaves roots coloring were all normal no bugs no fungus or disease. Potted the seedling back up returned it to group. Am I missing something or are these plants that sensitive to warm soil? Is this a characteristic that goes away with age? Do your WP also exhibit this growth pattern? Spring/ Fall growth summer they slow way down? Any insight on soil temps and your experiences growing Worsleya would be great. Mike San Diego Where the early Fall rains seem to have ceased.. _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net http://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… Unsubscribe: <mailto:pbs-unsubscribe@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net>
