Dear All, With the onset of warm weather we are coming towards the end of spring. But the last spring flowers are very beautiful which I would like to share with you. The pictures are a few days old. Unfortunately this site of Iris filifolia was heavily damaged by the digging activity of wild boars, the number of flowers was much bigger last year. It is an interesting place full of beautiful plants. All pictures are from the same location, not far from my home. The first picture shows Iris filifolia with Lavandula stoechas Second picture: the same Iris, growing in cracks of the rock and thus protected from boars. This habitat will be bone dry and boiling hot in summer. Third picture: a modest companion is Dipcadi serotinum, the large green leaves are from Drimia maritima, growing in a thin layer of grit and humus The last picture is of a particularly good color form of Gladiolus illyricus Enjoy, Uli -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
