Extreme Cold in the USA - How are PBS Members Faring?

Friends in Norman, OK and Dallas, TX related to me today that the electric utility companies there are instituting rolling blackouts to distribute electric power. There's too much demand and not enough supply because of the cold. I've only seen this happen before during heatwaves in the summer. I never imagined that it would occur during winter. So, the cold is very severe in a lot of areas in the central states. I hope gardeners there mulched their outdoor beds heavily last autumn.
