Dear Friends, In the northern sub-suburbs of Kansas City we woke to -12 this morning. That is chilly. another snow fall yesterday on top of 2 earlier ones makes for around 4 in + of white stuff. We were forecast for -19 so we feel we got off OK at -12. We have experienced the BIG FREEZE here in 1989 when it went to -23 and stayed below 0 F for weeks. We hope to slowly warm up after last night’s low and make it up to 32 F by this weekend. By planning ahead we were able to escape any dangerous lows in my tiny green house about 50 ft from the house. Did get down to 30s, but no freeze. Most nights were kept in the mid 40s. Regular deliveries of seed and plant catalogs give a boost to our cabin fever and lock down frenzy. Ready for SPRING NOW.
