The laws are not new: several major bulb dealers have included notes in their catalogs about the states and counties where importing onions is prohibited. Culinary onions are major agricultural businesses in those areas. Gardeners in those areas will have to do without so the rest of us can continue to have a good, inexpensive supply for the dinner table.
