Lucky enough to be visiting Cape Town this month, I saw clumps and singles of this (bulb?) growing wild, very near Kirstenbosch. Any help with plant ID?

They were in a boggy area (likely an underground stream) under pine trees. You can see three different stages of flowering and non-flowering, and the last photo shows spreading growth under these moist winter conditions. Rainfall has returned to the Cape.
