Dear Jane, There are many places beyond the Pacific Coast where this species is far from invasive, but a desireable small spring bulb. Leave it to the B X to mark it as possibly invasive in mild climates and the person making the request to determine if it fits their gardens. I think that the B X always welcomes variety. Jim W. I don't know whether to offer it because though it's smaller than the familiar H. hispanica ("the dreaded Spanish bluebell"), it could behave similarly in favorable conditions. What do you think? Is "botanical interest" worth taking the chance of distributing an invasive plant?
