Mary Sue, The bulb you posted is curious. Admittedly I'm a novice, and this is a wild guess, but could this possibly be an *Ornithogalum*? -* juncifolium*, perhaps. It also seems to me that if Tim is right, Ornithogalum is more likely to be a weed in the Northeast than an Albuca. That said - I haven't a clue.
