Jane McGary, you made my day with your comment " haven't added any Allium species to my bulb lawn because they don't flower until it's almost time to mow it. Just now it's at the neighborhood-eyesore stage but I hope all the Narcissus foliage will be withered by next week. I know all about that "neighborhood-eyesore stage". The front lawn here is spangled with snowdrops, crocuses and glories-of-the-snow and lesser celandine (sorry). The snowdrops are mostly Galanthus elwesii whose foliage sticks up conspicuously. By early May things are getting pretty shaggy. I cut the lawn today for the fourth time this year.
