genus Wilcoxia

Wikipedia confirms your information. Apparently neither Peniocereus
nor Echinocereus
have appeared in the PBX BX either. So whatever you wanna call it, I'm
gonna be trying growing a geophytic cactus soon. I'm excited! And I'm
still wondering who else is growing them.

According to The Plant List, most of Wilcoxia has now been moved to
Peniocereus or Echinocereus. See http://www.theplantlist.org/
tpl1.1/search?q=wilcoxia. A few haven't yet been moved because their
provenance apparently hasn't been resolved. If you have a source for these
books, also see Anderson, Edward, "The Cactus Family," 2001; and Hunt,
David (Ed.), "The New Cactus Lexicon," 2006. Both placed ALL of Wilcoxia
into Peniocereus or Echinocereus.

Subject: [pbs] genus Wilcoxia

My newest plant obsession is fragrant cactuses (especially the tropical
epiphytes) which are definitely OT for PBS. However, while searching for
sources for the more obscure varieties I encountered the genus Wilcoxia.
These are cactuses with tuberous roots like Dahlias. They're fascinating!

Are PBS members growing these? I can't find any record of them being
offered in the BX. The PBS wiki does have a page for a related genus, but
not for Wilcoxia:

My first attempt is going to be Wilcoxia schmolli. I just ordered some
seeds. Some cool pics of it can be seen here:
