I've been both victim and (to my shame) perpetrator of similar events.
Sometimes the photos of plants on the web one uses for identification
are also wrong, contamination having spread beyond the seed exchanges.

But the wiki photos of those two species [1] look clear enough.

Shows the utility of having photos of seeds and bulbs on the wiki,
although I have no idea if these are distinct for these two species.
