I just reread my earlier post, and i have to correct an awkward sentence.  When I put my pots in a bit of shade for the summer, I do not water them while dormant.  A splash in early September,  then I wait until our rains start here. We have now gone over one month without rain, and I have watered them a few times. Sorry for any wrong impression.
