Uli, I missed it a second ago when replying. You said your G winitii was making offsets on the spent blooms. This would be an extremely rare occurrence on G winitii, though they are capable of making plantlets. Other species make bulbils in abundance and I'm wondering if perhaps what you have is a different Globba species. The true G winitii almost never makes plantlets under normal conditions, but cut flowers can often sprout plantlets, but these normally are lower on the stem. Do you have photos of this one for a good ID? Tim Chapman
