It seems clear from the number of times this has been discussed that
Facebook has many fans as well as people who do not wish to join it.
There are some people who have already maxed out on the number of
messages they want to get. Adding the PBS Facebook page seemed like a
reasonable compromise. PBS is in charge of the content of the page
and the list continues to be the place for discussion and the wiki or
links to people's personal pages a place to show pictures. This
doesn't split the group into those people who want to communicate
through Facebook and those who do not. And it doesn't prevent all
those people who love Facebook to join as many bulb groups as they
want on Facebook. I rather suspect that no matter how many times this
is discussed on this list there will always be people who feel
strongly on both sides. And there is another marvelous source for
discussing bulbs where you can post pictures directly, the Scottish
Rock Garden Forum.
