James, I do grow this plant in several aquaria - it is, in fact, a superb plant for planted tanks. It is grown in commercial aquarium plant farms in Southeast Asia and even here in the US. I don't know about its conservation status but the plants you see in the pet stores are likely not wild-collected - for a variety of reasons, aquarium plants are almost exclusively farmed. There are a few species of aquatic crinum - several with leaves that are even prettier than the green ribbons of C. thaianum. Why not collect them all! -|<ipp > Does anyone grow Crinum thaianum? It is not on the PBS wiki, but it seems very available at least here in Kansas City.
