Jim W., I don't know the reasons for the Hippeastrum species Facebook group being Closed. I know that there is a strong intention to keep any discussion on it restricted to species Hippeastrums. So maybe they want to keep it lightly moderated. It was started only 3 weeks ago, by a member of the PBS list, but that person is probably on an airplane at the moment headed towards the Middle East at the start of a cool vacation. I don't see that his second-in-command is on the PBS list, but maybe you can send a FB message to him asking to be added to the list. It seems to me that they've been adding a lot more people the past few days. I think that the originators of the group just don't know who all is interested in species Hippeastrums. --Lee Poulsen Pasadena, California, USA - USDA Zone 10a Latitude 34°N, Altitude 1150 ft/350 m On Jan 14, 2013, at 9:15 AM, James Waddick wrote: > > Dear Peter, > > I went to the page you linked : Planet Botanical Hippeastrum > > and was pleased to see the emphasis on openness and sharing, but why on Earth is this a 'Closed Group"? > > Closed seems so unwilling to share and secretive. Odd, that's all. Jim W. >
