Hi Jerry, Eucomis montana has been doing well for me for several years; one has flowers of a particularly nice purplish color. That one is up against the south side of the house sheltered from winter wet; its seed sister (rather plainer) is unprotected. They've been through -5o or so. Not just for the summer, but over-winter. Any suggestions on experimenting with over-wintering Eucomis in zone 5? And would they be considered deer resistant or rabbit resistant? --Jerry Lehmann, Olathe, KS, USA, zone 5, where the daffodils & hyacinths are just starting to bloom, and the crocus are just finishing
