Randy; I had a quick look at Duncan's Lachenalia book and I think I may found the problem. He writes regarding L. monatana: As with L. sargeantii, it requires fire to be stimulated into successful flowering in the wild, and may subsequently be seen in profusion, often associated with L. peersii.
