Please help with Hippeastrum ID
J.E. Shields (Wed, 09 Feb 2011 09:22:17 PST)

Pham,

There is in fact no way of knowing if any of these are true species without
knowing their detailed provenance. Assuming some of them are species, I
would guess as follows:

IMG_1996.jpg -- Hippeastrum puniceum
P1010658.jpg -- Hippeastrum puniceum
IMG_2086.jpg -- Hippeastrum reginae (maybe -- depends on size, habit, etc.)
IMG_2080.jpg -- commercial hybrid
IMG_2062.jpg -- commercial hybrid

Look through the wiki here and through the IBS Gallery at
http://bulbsociety.org/GALLERY_OF_THE_WORLDS_BULBS…

Jim Shields

Hi,
I am a new Hippeastrum collector. Now, my bulbs are producing flowers
but I do not know which species they belong to. Please give a check
and help me to clarify.
