The current issue of The Bulb Garden is in the mail and you may have received your copy already. If you are a member and do not receive it in a timely fashion, please write Arnold Trachtenberg (arnold140@verizon.net) for assistance. This issue has some great articles. Jane McGary brings us the news that many of the scillas have been reclassified. Judy Glattstein shows us how bulbs can be combined in beds with perennials and annuals. Marguerite English daydreams the winter away in her garden room, and Robin Hansen tells us the saga of building her greenhouses. Finally, the nutritional needs of bulbs are discussed by biochemist Jim Shields. This is my first issue as co-editor with Jennifer Hildebrand, who led me gently through the process. I also had lots of help from former editor Marguerite English and from President Jane McGary. And, of course, there the authors who came through with their well-written articles. My thanks to all of you. Now is the time to start thinking about the next issue. If you have an idea about a topic--a book review, humor, memoir, biography, tales of success or disaster, portrait of a species, anything related to bulbs--please contact me at jane@sonic.net.
